I miss Tohoku

Prior to the fateful incident, I was actually planning lotsa blog posts about Miyagi, where I used to frequent on weekends while working in Yamagata, as well as Fukushima, where I had taken a short weekend trip last autumn.

Now, one is almost entirely flattened by the tsunami, and the other is under the severe threat of a nuclear outbreak.

Words can't describe the sorrow in my heart, even though I've managed to return to the safe arms of my country. But just like what yz, my friend currently in Kyoto, has written - "this is not the time to be depressed." "the best way to help is to do what you are supposed to do." I cannot agree more.

To my dear readers in Singapore, please SMS “Red Cross” to 75772 and donate S$50.00 to the Red Cross Japan Earthquake appeal. Thank you.

Even if you are unable to contribute financially, a way to help is by simply being more appreciative of whatever we have - a roof over our heads, sufficient food to eat, loved ones by our sides, etc.

Please stay strong, Japan.

I'm so, so sorry. I am getting as many people to donate. Anything to help because I feel so helpless.
