Farewell Dinners
7/6/2005 火: a day of gd food! for lunch, somyo-bucho let mi and tsepeng dine at our in house restaurant, Fruitier. it was buffet style one. ate a lot, esp the nice cakes!


then in the evening, we made our way over to Righal Royal Hotel together with kawasaki-manager. it was the farewell dinner with HSA. a really formal event. got abt 300 ppl attended!! and we had to go on stage some more, with each of our names being called out, and we wld stand out and bow. josephine, our rep, gave a speech too. after tt, had dinner in buffet-style again. so happie to see my otousan & okaasan of my first homestay attending too. ate more nice cakes again! =P



8/6/2005 水: broke my specs last nite and had to spend the first half of the day walking ard in a blur. after lunch, i requested to tateishi-san to go out and make a pair of specs. this request made my whole marketing dept v nervous and worried. in the end tsugu-san accompanied mi. so nice of him! the procedure of making specs is similar to SG's, but much faster. after examine eyes, only need 20mins to get the specs done. meanwhile, tsuga-san treated mi to coffee. felt so bad to trouble him for so long!

evening, made another request to leave early cos josephine had already reached our hotel. we were having another farewell dinner in ANA hotel tt nite. so we hang ard in the toilet while some of them changed into yukata.

the dinner tt nite was banquet-style. it was farewell to shinkin bank as well as all the participating companies in this internship. chatted with somyo-bucho & kawasaki-manager at our table. an enjoyable dinner! =)


b4 returning, we had fun accompanying sharon go find her charming and cute kacho to take pics. hee~

and after putting down our stuffs back in the dorm, we went out to Oshiba park to play hanabi (fireworks)! we started the session by shouting "YUMMMMM~~ SENG!" with our orange juice, and later lotsa screams and shouts as the fireworks were being sent up in the sky. not long after, we discovered to our shock tt a keisatsu (policeman) was walking towards us!! apparently, we were being too urusai (noisy). but after seeing us all girls and explaining we were frm SG, the policemen looked rather... amused? sympathetic? still, we had to stop the activity and sharon's name was being taken down. oops~ wat an experience sia! to get booked by police in a foreign land. btw, the policeman was quite cute! =P



9/6/2005 木: my last day of internship.... was in a daze for the whole day. prolly cos i was too tired frm sleeping late and waking early everyday. my head was throbbing and my eyes kept shutting. was supposed to do english translation but it was hard to think straight. spent my lunch hr sleeping in the locker room, but my condition didn't get any better. felt so paiseh to keep falling asleep in the office, and it was my last day some more! somyo-bucho & tsuga-san finally detected something wrong with mi and told mi to go rest. and so i slept in the locker room all the way till abt 4.30pm. then rested in the canteen with tsepeng's company till 5pm.

back to the office, i felt so bad for sleeping my day away. but they were all v understanding. i kept looking over to tateishi-san. it was my last day working with her already. was supposed to go for photography session together but i missed it. sad sad~. then i saw her going ard to empty the wastepaper bins alone. it was almost 5.30pm already, but it was my last chance to help her bring the trash down to the rubbish chute. so i walked over and helped carry the garbage. tateishi-san told mi to go sit and rest but i insisted tt i'm "daijoubu" (ok). with tt, i picked up and rubbish and we set off to the rubbish chute.

after work, mi and tsepeng had to return our uniforms and then we went ard taking pics of the hotel while waiting for our last farewell dinner with ANA. it was held at the Sky Beer Restaurant, yes the restaurant at the rooftop. it was a really enjoyable dinner with lotsa good food and good laughs. had fun exchanging gifts, taking pics, etc.


tateishi-san was siting beside mi. at a pt, i took out a lil pressie for her. it's a cute lil pouch. when tateishi-san looked at the pressie, she din say anything. she juz held on to it with her head hanging low. i was wondering if she din like it or wat. then i realised tt she was crying!! awwww~~~ i kept patting her. but suddenly, tears flooded my eyes too. i fought to hold them back and wiped them away quickly. it was such a touching moment for both of us...

the dinner ended with a clapping sequence, their way of ending a joyful gathering. b4 leaving, i apologised to my marketing dept for making them worried abt my health tt day. after bading farewell with them, the moment my back turned, my tears rolled down uncontrollably...


to marketing dept of ANA hotel Hiroshima, thank u so much for all the care, kindness and assistance given to mi. i will nv forget this wonderful experience.

was glad to see sharon, alice, rachel and kaisi still ard when we got back to the dorm. cos they returning to SG tonite already, while the rest of us will be going Kyoto. since there was still time, we played the remaining fireworks! kajiwara-san joined in as well. so fun~ tonite the police din come chase us away anymore. =P it was the last chance for the 7 of us (and Kajiwara-san) to be together...

the fireworks were really mesmerising and exciting. unfortunately, they were also short-lived. wat a beautiful ending to this internship for us~
