Job Hunting 転職活動

As the title suggests, I'm currently on a job hunt. I don't hate my present job really. My managers are very nice people and I enjoy the freedom of working at my own pace. Unfortunately, I think I've reached a stage where I'm not learning anything new and there is simply no way to progress any further, given the size of my company and since I had chosen to give up the chance of working in our Yokohama headquarters. I'm not afraid of disclosing this intention to quit because I've already spoken to my managers about it. They are very understanding and are even willing to let me stay until I've found something else.

So started the whirlwind 転職活動 of sending resumes, writing cover letters, visiting job agencies, arranging interviews & of course, attending them. To date, I've already attended a number of interviews but sad to say, the only company that got me really keen to work for them decided to reject me. (T_T) *sobs* On the other hand, I did get selected by this well-established company which offered me a really attractive package with many opportunities for growth. Yet, after an agonising 2 days of consideration, I finally rejected them. It isn't just about the money nor prospects, I concluded to myself. I really want to work in an industry that I'm truly interested in.

Therefore, here I am, back at the starting point after one big round. And I decided to jot down this job-hunting journey as a reminder to myself on what to look out for in order not to come back here again.

Firstly, I need to be firm about the type of position I'm looking for.
1) Qualification: JLPT1 (translating, interpreting, facilitating communications with Japanese counterparts, etc.)
2) Industry: Fashion/Beauty/Travel/Retail... basically the more recreational sectors
3) Nature: Admin/Sales/Marketing... I'm quite open about this actually
4) Location: Central or West Singapore, preferably with occasional business trips to Japan ;)
5) Salary: something that's reasonable for a degree holder =P

Secondly, when I'm given the chance to attend an interview, I should
1) prepare not only in English but also in Japanese since a Japanese-speaking job is what I want.
2) display utmost confidence of my capabilities instead of trying to eat the humble pie, for it will only suggest to the interviewers that I'm not competent enough.
3) relax, more so when it's my dream job as I have a tendency to get nervous when dealing with things I especially care about.

With the above points in mind, I shall continue this mentally-strenuous search for the ideal job that I will love. Do wish me luck and if anyone happens to know of an opening that matches my requirements, please let me know!
