女子会@馳走三昧

Last month, I met up with a group of nice & fun-loving girls in Singapore who love Japan just like myself!

Except for milmilky, I only got to know them recently via Twitter. They happened to be having a 女子会 one Saturday evening and eveychua kindly invited me!

We had Japanese buffet at this newly-opened restaurant in The Central at Clarke Quay, called Chiso Zanmai 馳走三昧. Here are some pictures of the sumptuous spread of Japanese delights it provides!

All pictures above were taken by eveychua. Other than her full-time job in a Japanese company, eveychua is also a freelance interpreter for a company that organises Japan-related events. How cool!

Anyway, here was what I had for my first round of eating. I really like how they prepare all the dishes in small portions, exactly how you usually find them in Japan!

eeks (right) also took a large plate of salmon sashimi for us to share. You can see that plate in the middle of this pic where they deliberately made weird faces under Apple's (left) suggestion. *lol* Anyway eeks designs menus & stuff for a Japanese restaurant. Interesting!

Here is a proper pic of milmilky (left), me (center) & Apple (right). milmilky has already been appeared in my blog many times. We got to know each other in Japan when I was teaching in Kobe and she was studying in Osaka. In fact, she found me through this very blog! Since then, we have had a lot of fun together in Osaka, Kobe, Hokkaido, Tokyo, Yokohama and of cos, Singapore. She's a really great travelling companion due to her easy-going and adventurous nature. (will try to update on all our adventures in due course!)

That day, Apple happened to bring along this cute-looking vegan cake (center) she made in her baking class. Vegan means that no eggs and butter were used, thus making this cake a healthier choice than the usual ones. Besides her personal blog and being a regular writer for Tokyo Kawaii, etc., she also has a page called "Happy Girls Cute Food" dedicated to sharing her recipes, so do check it out if you're interested!

Of course, we had to take some group pics. Think you saw Ayumi Hamasaki in the above pic? Haha... you're probably looking at LoveZyn. I had been reading LoveZyn's blog for some time and have always liked her fashion & make-up, so it's quite exciting to get to know her in person. She definitely looks as pretty in real life as she does in the pics and her manners are very gentle & ladylike, just like a traditional Japanese lady!

Here's aother group pic that eveychua took for us, cos the previous one taken by the restaurant staff doesn't show all the yummy desserts we have on our table! Hee~

All in all, it was an enjoyable girls' night out and I'm really happy to know more friends who love Japanese culture, language, fashion, etc. Hope to hang out with everyone again soon! (^-^)/

Hi Shanjae,

I shared your blog with a Singaporean girl who plans to move to Tokyo, because I thought you are the right person with experiences so she can seek for an advice, if she wants.

Anyhow, it's nice to know you are doing well back in Singapore. What's surprising was I saw Apple here!! What a small world! XD

Nice Joshikai!! ^___^

Take care,
Kirin

Hi Kirin, long time no see~ Hope you are doing well!

It's an honor to have you share my blog with people who are interested in Japan. Hope my experiences (which are mainly personal whinings =Pp) are able to provide some assistance to the girl you mentioned.

Haha... yes, Apple and I are now friends! She's a really fun girl to hang out with, isn't she? ;) Do visit Singapore soon so we can all go out together! Hee~
