Theory session @ Sony Style Wisma
(yup~ my former workplace!)

Learning to use the Sony DSLR-A330

Kenneth, our instructor for the day.
He's all fuzzy right now cos he was jumping up and down and telling us to shoot him with a slow shutter speed.

Tata, here's Kenneth again and much clearer.
He was still jumping but had told us to increase the shutter speed by adjusting the aperture and ISO.

Picture composition technique 1 - Frame-in-Frame (??!!)

About 2.5 hours after the theory session, we came to the Singapore Flyer for our practical session.
Think En looks very sweet and natural here!

While waiting, I shot her...

...and she shot me!
*boliao* =P

Some sample shots of what we were going to achieve that day.

First task was to shoot this mini waterfall.
The key was to use a slow shutter speed to get that silky look.

Amateur photographer at work!

The next model for Sony cameras (??)

Picture composition technique 2 - Making use of curves and lines

Trying to take a symmetrical shot

En and Darren, one of the Sony staff who is also a great photographer.
All the equipment he brought that day was worth like $10,000 in total!

On board the Singapore Flyer!

Rising up~

City night view

Peak of the Flyer - my "winning" shot of the night!
Won myself a Sony jacket for this wor! Haha~

Trying to be artistic here

Again, I shot En...

...and En shot me!
*super boliao!* =Pp

Then we asked Kenneth to help us take a picture.
Boy~ shots by professionals are indeed different!
Picture composition technique 3 - Rules of Third

This picture is supposed to show the trails of moving cars.

Artistic picture of the city lights by setting the camera out of focus.

After alighting from the Flyer, we proceeded to take its beautiful exterior.

Each of these night shots took like 30 seconds to process.
(We had tripods, of course.)
Notice that the capsules seem to have disappeared!

Finally, a formal group shot of everyone involved in today's photography outing.

And an informal shot as well!
Many thanks to all the fun and friendly Sony staff for this enriching and enjoyable day!!
