台北の旅 2007 - Day 4
10月24日 - 我吃，我吃，我吃吃吃！

it's the day when stownin would be arriving. we had arranged to meet at 3pm in the hostel. since i still had time in the morning, i went around on my own to explore more. but first of all, i had to change more Taiwanese dollars. was told by the hostel staff to go to the 2 banks nearby, and to check the rates at both places first before changing. turned out the rates were indeed quite different!


then i took the metro to Zhongxiao Dunhua and walked along the street filled with shopping malls and office buildings. also passed by 华视 again and took a better look of it in bright daylight.


not long after, i came to Sun-Yat-Sen memorial hall. took some pics outside and then went in to find the marching ceremony just starting.




next, i walked towards 诚品信义店. it's one of the biggest branches among the other 诚品 bookstores, and also on the 6th floor, there's the nail parlour opened by Jolin!


then i spent like 1 hour in the bookstore looking for JLPT1 books, cos they are a little cheaper than in Japan. bought a past-year papers book complete with CD.


i then went back to the hostel and stownin had already arrived! put down some things before we went out to Xi Men Ding.



tried the famous "Ah Zong Mian Xian"! *yummy*


found this Karaoke Box machine where stownin sang a song by LeeHom.


and we took purikura!!!! haha~

then, we took the metro to Jiantan, where Shilin night market was. however, i wanted to visit a dance studio in that area and so i left stownin on his own for 1 hour. paisehh~! =P the class i had wanted to take was "punking" actually, but when i got there, i was told that it has been changed to "clubjazz". was quite disappointed but well, since trial class was free so i took it anyway. there were many teenagers in the class that i felt so old! =P and the dance instructor seemed a little inexperienced but she was quite nice when i asked her for a photo after class.


and then it was time for dinner in Shilin Night Market!


we went to the main eating place where we tried various 小吃 - 豪大鸡排，蚝仔煎，大肠包小肠，棺材板 and a 青蛙下蛋 drink.


was quite full already after eating all these. then we walked through the shopping area which was jam-packed with people and roadside stalls. it was especially interesting to see how the illegal street vendors "escaped" in a systematic manner when the police came.


anyway, both of us bought a T-shirt each and went back to hostel. i moved rooms again... this time to a 4-bed one which mi and stownin shared with 2 American guys. saw some photos on stownin's imac, then went online a while before going to bed.
