Going home...

I am going home again tomorrow!

Although I didn't quite like this place initially and it's only gonna be a few months before I have to come back again, I still can't help feeling a tinge of sadness at the thought of leaving...

Some things that I'm gonna miss:

- my very own 1-room apartment, where I can go to bed at any late hour, watch doramas on my laptop with the warmth from my kotatsu, cook my own meals, have my own fashion parade in front of the big mirror, and of cos, do my own cleaning with my very handy vacuum cleaner

- cycling around on my bicycle while enjoying the sight of mountains, rivers and blue blue sky

- grocery shopping, especially for discounted foods, at ヨークベニマル, 五野目 and MaxValu


- shopping for cheap and really cute clothes at しまむら and Honey's

- taking hip-hop class at Yamagata city every Saturday night

- exploring the nearby cities on weekends, by making use of the 2400yen Holiday Pass which allows unlimited usage of the local trains within 南東北 (places that I've been to so far: 山形市、天童市、鶴岡市、米沢市、仙台市、etc.)


- seeing high school students in their uniforms, which come in many different styles and are all so nice! (i have a secret desire to try wearing one someday... =P)

- eating Japanese rice, thickly-sliced bread, fresh sashimi, authentic ramen, Mister Donut's donuts, Gusto's drink bar, etc etc etc...


- pretty flowers blooming all around in this season


- beautiful background of snow-capped mountains everywhere

- the random chit-chats, although not many, with my Japanese colleagues in the pantry

- sitting at the hidden corner in office, where I can surf the Internet freely even while doing work =P


And things that I am NOT gonna miss:

- having to make sure that I do not miss the trains because they come by like only once every 1 or 2 hours

- almost freezing to death at the below zero temperatures in winter

- talking to myself all the time because I have nobody to talk to (and I realise that I sometimes actually talk aloud to myself when I'm in my apartment... this loneliness is driving me crazy or what?!)


Anyway, I am very glad to be able to go home and see all my friends again. Now I can finally have real people to talk to! Hee...

Plans after getting home
- meet up with friends friends friends!!!
- visit the dentist to adjust my braces
- learn driving! although I'm not sure how far I can get with only 2-3 months
- organise a 61 gathering??
- Temasek Lang Sch's 20th anniversary party in July
- take a short holiday somewhere... Hong Kong? Some resort island?
