frens who have been frequenting my blog since i started it in 2004 might remember this collage which i posted in Feb 2005. these pics were taken during CNY, when i forgot my keys and En kindly came to accompany mi until my mum returned home. we were hanging around in our neighbourhood and had not much entertainment except for En's digicam and my handphone. end result...

2.5 years later, En sent mi an email with a picture attachment of an advertisement printed in a Chinese newspaper, which her fren had kindly scanned for her. i was totally SHOCKED when i saw it...

This is totally UNBELIEVABLE!!! I HAVE NEVER GIVEN ANY CONSENT TO ANY COMPANIES NOR ADVERTISING FIRMS TO USE MY PERSONAL PHOTO IN ANY PUBLICATIONS. How could they just steal my picture and printed it in such a way as if I were endorsing their product???

now i remember why an ex-classmate MSNed mi a week ago, asking if i had done any modelling for some travel agency. apparently, she went to a recent travel fair and received a pamphlet of the above advertisement. at that time, i juz laughed it off, saying tt it's impossible to be mi since i am currently all the way in Japan. i thought it was simply a case of look-alike faces, and didn't take it seriously.
but after seeing the advertisement, i was really stunned that it really IS mi, no doubt! SHOCK & ANGRY & ok... a little flattered for being chosen to be used in an ad... but hey, that's not the point!! THEY HAVE MADE USE OF MY PERSONAL PICTURE WITHOUT ANY PERMISSION AND PRINTED IT IN NEWSPAPERS AND PAMPHLETS WHICH ARE DISTRIBUTED AROUND SINGAPORE. HOW UNETHICAL!!!
i am really furious at whoever has stolen my picture. i think the thief must be a reader of my or En's blog or both of ours, since these are the only places with those pics (or links to them). gee~ kinda freaky, isn't it? for all we know, that despicable thief might be reading this post right now!! (yes, you slimy rat!)
frens, any suggestions what i should do???
(btw, my tag-board has returned after a long break! pls feel free to drop comments!)

You should make a formal complaint, get a lawyer and sue.
Because you actually did give any form of consent, written or verbal, you can actually get a lot of money from them.
And it's quite a bit of money. I hope you have emailed them about it! Cos if it's me, I will really sue them.
